About the show

The Confluence Cast is a long-running conversation about how Columbus actually works — the people, the institutions, the politics, and the small stuff that adds up to a city.

I started this show back in 2016 because I kept having the kind of conversations I wished more people got to hear — with the person running the nonprofit, the candidate nobody was covering yet, the founder three years before anyone called it a scene. Columbus is a city that mostly explains itself in press releases. I wanted the version you get when someone sits down for an hour and actually talks.

A few hundred episodes later, that's still the whole idea. No hot takes, no manufactured drama — just people who know something, given the time to say it. Some episodes are about arts and culture, some about business or development, a lot about the civic machinery most of us never see. If it shapes Columbus, it's fair game.

Who's behind it

I'm Tim Fulton — host, producer, and the guy editing this at odd hours. I've lived and worked in Columbus long enough to be genuinely curious about almost every corner of it, and this show is how I keep learning.
